High Inspector of Justice, Mr. Artur Metani had a meeting with a delegation of the Supreme Judicial Council of Bulgaria, which is conducting a working visit to our country.
The Bulgarian delegation consists of two members of the Judges’ College of the Supreme Judicial Council, Mr. Boyan Magdalinchev and Ms. Tsvetinka Pashkunova and two members of the Prosecutors’ College of the Supreme Judicial Council, Ms. Kalina Chapkanova and Ms. Svetlana Boshnakova.
Having made a presentation of the institution he heads, the High Inspector of Justice pointed out that not only is the exchange of experiences between institutions important, but it is also necessary.
The members of the Supreme Judicial Council of Bulgaria informed Mr. Metani of the discussions on a reform of the justice system in their country and different models that are being debated, including the system of inspection of magistrates.
The High Inspector of Justice responded to the interest of the delegation of Bulgaria on specific aspects of the institution and the justice system, underlining the work philosophy of the HIJ Office on establishing a balance between the public interest in the administration of justice and the independence of magistrates.
