The High Inspector of Justice of Albania and the Inspectorate to the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Bulgaria formalized the cooperation between them by signing a joint memorandum of understanding.
The memorandum, which was signed at the premises of HIJ, between High Inspector of Justice Artur Metani and Inspector General Toedora Tochkova, provides for the exchange of best practices and experiences, in the framework of verifying complaints procedures, investigating disciplinary violations, initiating disciplinary proceedings against magistrates, as well as implementing institutional and thematic inspections.
The exchange of information on the legal system and legislation in the field of disciplinary proceedings against magistrates, law enforcement measures in their areas of jurisdiction and their international experience applicable during the disciplinary investigation procedure, including the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights, is another dimension of the memorandum of understanding along with the exchange of experience on how to communicate with the public in order to guarantee the principle of transparency and protection of personal data and the integrity of magistrates.
