The High Inspector of Justice is a new constitutional institution responsible for the verification of complaints, investigating disciplinary violations and initiating disciplinary proceedings against judges and prosecutors of all levels, members of the High Judicial Council, members of the High Prosecutorial Council and the Prosecutor General.

Responsible for the management, organization, supervision and proper functioning of the State Attorney Institution; for the adoption of special rules for the unification of counseling practices, representation and mediation, followed by state attorneys; representation of the Republic of Albania before the European Court of Human Rights, as a government agent, etc.

The report, in the framework of the project “Consolidation of the Justice System in Albania” (EURALIUS), describes the history of the immunity of judges in Albania, amendments to the Constitution, Criminal Procedure Code, judicial interpretations, among others.
