PARTICIPANTS OF THE 3RD EDITION OF AIEN – STUDY VISIT TO HIJ

Participants of the Academy of European Integration and Negotiations (AIEN) conducted a study visit to the HIJ premises, which included a conversation with the High Inspector of Justice, Mr. Artur Metani, within the framework of the “Rule of Law” module, and a visit to the HIJ premises.

The participants of this academy, engaged in public administration, non-public institutions, civil society organizations, lawyers and professionals from other fields, were introduced by Mr. Metani to the role and functions of the High Inspector of Justice, the work processes and the challenges of the institution, both strengthening the rule of law, and increasing public trust in the High Inspector of Justice in particular and the justice system in general.

The meeting continued as an open conversation on the challenges of the justice system and the specific role of the HIJ in addressing them. The High Inspector of Justice emphasized the importance that the institution gives to respecting the independence of magistrates and balancing their accountability, in addition to legal education, through activities and meetings with various social groups.

At the end of the conversation, the participants of the Academy of European Integration and Negotiations conducted a tour of the premises of the Office of the High Inspector of Justice, to the Inspectors and Assistant Inspectors units, the cabinet and the administration of the institution.
