FOR EASIER ACCESS TO INFORMATION ON THE ACTIVITY OF THE HIJ

In pursuit of its continued commitment to a transparent, accountable and publicly accessible institution, the High Inspector of Justice has added to its official website a section dedicated to the disciplinary proceedings conducted since the institution became operational, making the information more accessible, better structured and easier for the public to consult.

Information on disciplinary proceedings had previously been published in the press release section, by the date of the proceeding. These data have now been grouped in a dedicated space, which affords the public more direct and organised access to the relevant information. (Click here)

For each magistrate subject to proceedings, this section makes available Information Notes on the case, as well as the decision rendered by the High Judicial Council or the High Prosecutorial Council, providing a clear overview of the disciplinary proceedings and their outcome.

This new section dedicated to disciplinary proceedings is added to the existing section on thematic and institutional inspections. (Click here)

Both of these spaces offer a fuller picture of the activity of the High Inspector of Justice throughout the institution’s operation and form part of the HIJ’s institutional commitment to strengthening integrity and accountability in the justice system, as part of the dimension of legal education and of informing the public about the institution’s activity and the exercise of its legal responsibilities.

The information is also available in the English-language version of the HIJ’s official website.
