Today the High Judicial Council accepted the request of the High Inspector of Justice for the dismissal of the magistrate R.H., judge at the Fier Judicial District Court.
The Chairperson, Mrs. Naureda Llagami, announced the decision according to which the HJC unanimously decided to dismiss the magistrate.
While presenting the result of the disciplinary investigation, High Inspector of Justice Artur Metani said that the actions of R.H. had severely discredited the figure of the judge, his image in public, and had reduced public confidence in the figure of the judge and the judiciary. This was because the magistrate had demanded and accepted bribes and had benefited from them due to his duty as a judge and at the same time had demanded sexual favor from a litigant, which was broadcast by the investigative show STOP on Klan TV, and which led to criminal proceedings and sentencing of the magistrate by the former Serious Crimes Court.
The judge behaviour had affected the regular activity of the judiciary because of the irregular actions of the outsiders as well as his own ones as part of judicial staff.
According to the High Inspector of Justice, this disciplinary violation is so serious that it makes the magistrate unworthy to continue performing his duty, and consequently the disciplinary measure can no longer have an educational effect, but it aims at the protection of the public interest by dismissing the magistrate and thus making this disciplinary measure a purely punitive one towards him.
