THE HIGH INSPECTOR OF JUSTICE HELD A MEETING WITH THE JOINT RAPPORTEURS OF THE PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE

High Inspector of Justice Mr. Artur Metani held a working meeting with the delegation of co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who are conducting the periodic fact-gathering visit to our country, consisting of Mr. Asim Mollazada (Azerbaijan, The European Conservatives Group and Democratic Alliance) and Mr. Ionut Stroe (Romania, European People’s Party Group), accompanied by Mr. Bas Klein, Deputy Head of the Monitoring Department and Mrs. Giulia Re, Head of the KiE Office in Albania.

Mr. Metani made a presentation of the role and functions of the Office of the High Inspector of Justice, the work and challenges in 3 and a half years, since the establishment of the newest institution that emerged from the reform in justice and the work to establish reference legal standards for the activity of magistrates.

The High Inspector of Justice responded to the interest of the rapporteurs on aspects of the work of the institution and the justice system in Albania.

Mr. Metani appreciated the cooperation, since the beginning, with the Council of Europe, through the project of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice, CEPEJ, for raising and strengthening the capacities of the Office of the High Inspector of Justice.
