Daniela Sulaj (Konica)

Ms. Sulaj graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1999. From 2001 to 2004, she attended the School of Magistrates and received the title of “Magistrate Prosecutor”.

After graduating from the School of Magistrates, from October 2004 to December 2007, she served as a Prosecutor at the Kavajë Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office.

From December 2007 to February 2021, she served as a Prosecutor at the First Instance Prosecutor’s Office in Tirana. During this time, she served as a prosecutor in the Juvenile Section (for two years), in the Joint Investigation Unit for Economic Crime and Corruption (Task Force), and in the Section against Economic and Financial Crime.

Ms. Sulaj is certified by NITA (National Institute of Trial Advocacy – US Department of Justice) as a Trainer for Case Presentation Skills in Court. As an expert in the field, she has been involved in teaching at the School of Magistrates, in the course “Case Presentation Skills in Court” developed for students of the 2nd year of Initial Training, from 2013 to 2019. Ms. Sulaj is also certified as a trainer within the framework of the JUFREX Project (Reinforcing Judicial Expertise on Freedom of Expression and Media in South-East Europe) in relation to Article 10 “Freedom of Expression” of the ECHR.

Ms. Sulaj contributed to the drafting of the text “Manual for the Investigation of Money Laundering” published in March 2013, drafted within the framework of the EU Twinning project in support of financial crime investigation structures in Albania.

She is also the co-author of the book “Manual on Alternative Sentencing in the Republic of Albania” published in May 2020, drafted within the framework of the project “Alternatives to Sentencing – Alternatives for a Better Life”.
