MEETING TO STRENGTHEN COOPERATION AND INCREASE COORDINATION BETWEEN THE HIGH INSPECTOR OF JUSTICE OFFICE AND THE PROSECUTOR GENERAL’S OFFICE

The High Inspector of Justice, Mr. Artur Metani held a work meeting with the Prosecutor General, Mr. Olsian Çela.

At the opening of this first institutional meeting, Mr. Metani praised the cooperation to date, in terms of forwarding to the HIJ office, according to legal provisions, complaints, archives or data owned by the Prosecutor General and deposited during the transitional period, until the establishment of the High Inspector of Justice Office.

The High Inspector of Justicice Mr. Metani pointed out that as a new Institution, with a new constitutional standard, the HIJ aims to radically change the concept of inspection by unifying the best standards of investigation, not only in respect of the law, but also the expectations of citizens within the reform in justice.

The Prosecutor General Mr. Çela assessed that with the changes that the prosecution body has undergone due to the justice reform, the primary objective remains to strengthen the independence and increase the responsibility of prosecutors, by building an efficient monitoring system and improving the coordination with the HIJ.

The High Inspector of Justice and the Prosecutor General shared the will to continue the sustainable cooperation between the two institutions.
